Design Consultation

Simply click on the “Let’s Get Acquainted” button at the bottom or complete the form below, and our office will reach out to you for more information. If you have a project in an area that we can service, our office will schedule for you a 15-20 minute phone call with a team member, to learn more about your project and to discuss scheduling an in-home visit.

In-Home/Pre-Construction Planning

The first question from perspective clients is usually: “Can we meet in person?” Yes, we’d love to, but there are some things you should know before we meet. For instance, we don’t offer free quotes.   In our experience, though many projects are similar in scope, each one is custom and unique.  This means that without a thorough plan and identified specifications, there is no way to put a realistic number on your project.  

We prefer to have an initial phone consultation, and if we are in agreement that we should continue together, we will ask you to sign a pre-construction agreement to get started, and together, we will work through forming a preliminary budget to guide the project.

Once in your home, The Design Group Co. designers will talk about a wish list and help homeowners define their vision and realize their goals.  

You may meet with your designer several times during the early stage of the planning process as we begin to fine-tune the scope of your project. We will prepare detailed floor plans and elevations for your review and approval. Cost projections are provided, budgets are established, and financing options are explored at this phase of the process. Concepts that started out as vague ideas are filling in with detail. 

Excitement builds as images of the completed project begin to emerge!


Developing Layout & Choosing Design Elements

During this same period of time, you will meet with your designer to select the products and finishes that will be used in your project. There is a vast array of materials, options and finishes from which to choose. With the guidance of your experienced designer, you will discover a world of stunning and innovative products and accessories that can be used in the design and construction of your renovation masterpiece.

 

Obtaining Building Permits

The Design Group Co will obtain all of the necessary construction permits from your municipality. You can relax and proceed with the construction, fully confident that everything is being taken care of.

Project Management

When building permits are issued, construction will begin soon thereafter. We will meet with you before construction begins and frequently thereafter to answer any questions and to provide overviews and progress updates. Communication is very important, and we are instrumental in keeping you informed and making sure everything is running smoothly and to your specifications.

Communication

All remodeling project communications are carefully handled during your home’s remodel. In addition to working with your designer, who remains in consistent contact with you throughout the renovation, you will be working closely with your project superintendent. The superintendent plays a huge role in keeping you updated, keeping the project flowing smoothly, and answering the inevitable questions that arise during construction.

The mission on this project was to take an otherwise unused loft and make it an attractive apartment. We understood the assignment! All hands were on deck for this one with our HVAC, electrical, plumbing, contracting & interior design crews! .
